The NovaStar VX600 is an all-in-one controller designed to simplify digital signage deployments with an ultra-large loading capacity.
The VX600 combines both video processing and display control features into a single, powerful unit and can function as a capable LED display Controller, a high-quality Image/Video processor and perform as a strong Fiber Converter or can be set to operate in Bypass working mode as required. Gathering all these incredible potentials eliminates the need for multiple devices and simplifies workflows, making it a versatile and cost-effective device for LED display setups.
As a respected brand that focuses on LED display control systems, providing solutions with high stability, NovaStar's controllers are well-known for their durability and outstanding performance, making them a formidable, high-performing, and dependable digital signage player for continuous 24/7 use, particularly when consistent functioning and reliability are essential.
Performance
The NovaStar VX600 LED Display Controller can process high-resolution images and receive several types of video sources. It can drive up to 3.9 million pixels with custom resolutions up to 10240 pixels in width or 8192 pixels in height and enhances image quality by optimizing each pixel ensuring that visuals are crisp and detailed.
Features
The VX600 uses modern methods to produce extremely consistent, detailed, and colorful images. The significant features are as follows:
Multiple kinds of hot backup: The VX600 offers various layers of redundancy, such as device-level, output Optical and Ethernet ports, and input sources backup, guaranteeing continuous operation and minimizing failures for maximum reliability.
All-round color adjustment: This feature in VX series controllers allows you to modify the color parameters of the LED screen like brightness, contrast, saturation, hue and Gamma ensuring that the displayed image is accurate and visually pleasing to the eyes.
Pixel Level Brightness and Chroma Calibration: This solution is provided by using NovaLCT and NovaStar calibration software, which calibrates the brightness and color of each individual pixel, eliminating discrepancies and providing a more visually appealing image.
Layers Management: The adjustable layer capability allows the customization of the size and position of three different layers and their priority on the LED display.
Preset Saving and Loading: It allows the saving and recall of up to 10 user-defined different preset configurations for display setups, which is useful for events, stage performances, and other applications where display settings must change frequently.
Powerful video scaling processing: The output image can be scaled smoothly and continuously with the stepless output scaling capability, which is based on SuperView III image quality processing technology. This results in a smooth and efficient display experience since the output image's size can be changed without any obvious steps or jumps.
Low Latency: The delay between the input source and receiving card can be minimized to twenty lines by switching on bypass mode and low latency function. Low latency ensures real-time synchronization between the live action and the video feed, reducing lag and improving the overall performance of the display, a vital feature for live events organizers.
10G Optical Fiber: In addition to providing electrical Gigabit Ethernet ports, VX600, thanks to its 10G optical technology, provides a fiber solution with 2x10G channels (each channel carries/delivers up to 6 gigabit Ethernet ports data). It supports single-mode high-speed data transfer over long distances, up to 10 kilometers, and up to 300m with Multimode transmission, ensuring high-quality noise-free video content delivery without signal loss.
Cascading: Not only a single VX600 is a powerful device, but one can connect up to 4 units (for image mosaic) to expand this processor's capabilities which will be essential to control large, complex and extensive LED display setups such as stadium panels and indoor/outdoor concerts displays.
Output
The VX600 is the ideal solution for largescale LED displays that require outstanding clarity and continuous operation. It provides Six Gigabit Ethernet ports with maximum loading capacity of 3,900,000 pixels ensure clear, detailed and continuous imagery and an HDMI 1.3 supports monitor and video output modes and resolution adjustment. The VX600 has also two 10G optical ports for fast and reliable data transmission over long distances.
Optical Fiber Ports
Additionally, VX600 features two 10G optical ports (Hot Swappable Single-mode and Multimode SFPs-Optional), The OPT1 port is a self-adaptive, configurable as either a video output when paired with a fiber optic converter, or a video input when connected to a Pixelhue video processor (ensuring high-speed, reliable data transmission over long distances with maximum capacity of 1x 4K×1K@60Hz or 2x 2K×1K@60Hz video inputs) and OPT 2 copies or backs up the output on 6 Ethernet ports.
These ports support Multi-mode OPT module that achieves data transmission up to 300 meters, using OM3/OM4 50/125μm fiber carried on 850nm wavelength light beams and Single-mode OPT module that extends transmission range to 10 kilometers, utilizing OS1/OS2 9/125µm fiber with 1310nm wavelength light beams.
The Mosaic Mode accessed to the OPT 1 that allows an input to be split and distributed across multiple connected displays (cascading up to 4 units) for large, seamless images.
Please note; SFPs are optional and if required users can provide these singlemode and multimode SFPs here on SinaPlug separately.
Input
This NovaStar controller offers a comprehensive suite of input ports to handle diverse multimedia resources, making it a perfect choice for live events and enormous digital signage. It supports DVI ports and HDMI 1.3 (compliant with HDCP 1.4), and 3G-SDI in addition to the OPT1 port that is configurable as a video input port.
Control
To simplify control of complex LED displays and ensure that all devices are synchronized to a single reference, the VX600 offers an Ethernet port and a USB Type-B (connects to the control PC), Additionally, USB ports make it possible for the cascading four VX600 units, guaranteeing all devices are precisely synchronized to a single reference.
Frame alignment between the external Genlock source and cascaded units is ensured via the GENLOCK IN and LOOP ports, which aid in synchronizing all cascaded devices using bi-level and tri-level sync signals
Sensing
The light sensor port connects to the light sensor to collect the ambient brightness resulting in an automatic display brightness adjustment feature for optimal and more energy-efficient viewing experiences.
Software Configuration and Tools
The VX600 can operate with NovaLCT and V-Can software to significantly facilitate in-field operations and control, such as screen configuration, Ethernet port backup settings, layer management, preset management, and firmware update.
Additionally, the pixel level brightness and chroma calibration feature supports brightness and chroma calibration on each LED through NovaLCT and NovaStar calibration software.
Operation
The VX600's CE, CB, UL, CMIM, EAC, FCC, IC, RCM, UKCA, and KC certifications ensure flawless continuous operation. Additionally, it performs perfectly in extreme ambient temperatures among -10°C and +45°C whenever powered via a 100-240VAC input voltage consuming maximum power of 35W.
Applications
Thanks to its powerful video processing and sending capabilities and other outstanding features, the VX600 can be widely used in applications such as medium and high-end rental, stage control systems and fine-pitch LED screens.
