The MCTRL4K is an LED display controller with an ultra-large loading capacity developed by NovaStar for LED displays and digital signage environments. The NovaStar MCTRL4K combines both controller and processor functions. This combination allows it to handle both data management and video optimization, making it a versatile device for LED display setups.
As a respected brand that focuses on LED display control systems, providing solutions with high refresh rates, high gray-scale levels, and high stability, NovaStar's controllers are well-known for their durability and outstanding performance, making them a formidable, high-performing, and dependable digital signage player for continuous 24/7 use, particularly when consistent functioning and reliability are essential.
Performance
The NovaStar MCTRL4K, the award winner of "Best Video Processor" in InfoComm, can handle resolutions up to 4096×2160@60Hz. It also supports custom resolutions up to 7680 pixels in width or height and enhances image quality by optimizing each pixel ensuring that visuals are crisp and detailed.
Features
The MCTRL4K uses modern methods to produce extremely consistent, detailed, and colorful images. The significant features are as follows:
HDR function: MCTRL4K offers HDR function, both in HDR10 and HLG standards and is compatible with receiving cards that support HDR, a combination that significantly improves the screen's image quality, presenting more vibrant visuals.
High Bit-Depth Input: Support for 8bit/10bit/12bit inputs provides richer color information, smoother gradients, and more accurate color reproduction.
Individual Gamma Adjustment for RGB: Gamma correction adjusts the brightness levels of the display to match human perception, ensuring consistent and accurate color across the display, particularly in darker grayscale areas.
RGB limited to RGB full: With this capability, RGB limited inputs are smoothly converted to RGB full, preserving natural black levels in low grayscale settings.
Pixel Level Brightness and Chroma Calibration: This technology calibrates the brightness and color of each individual pixel, eliminating discrepancies and providing a more visually appealing image.
3D Support: MCTRL 4K can work with 3D devices (3D NovaStar emitter EMT200 and 3D glasses) to create immersive experiences for 3D cinema, and outdoor advertising.
Low Latency: The delay between the input source and receiving card can be minimized to one frame by turning on input source sync and low latency. Low latency ensures real-time synchronization between the live action and the video feed, reducing lag and improving the overall performance of the display, a vital feature for live events organizers.
10G Optical Fiber: In addition to providing electrical Gigabit Ethernet ports, MCTRL4K, thanks to its 10G optical technology and collaboration with fiber converters like CVT4K-S, provides a fiber solution with 4x10G channels (each channel carries/delivers up to 8 gigabit Ethernet ports data). It supports high-speed data transfer over long distances, up to 10 kilometers, ensuring high-quality video content delivery without signal loss.
Adaptive to Inputs with Decimal Frame Frequencies: Ensures smooth playback and full compatibility with diverse broadcast and production standards frame rates' standards like 23.98/29.97/47.95/59.94/71.93/119.88Hz.
4K UHD: Beside the ultra-high resolutions that can be set up with NVIDIA graphics cards, this fantastic device also supports any custom resolutions with the maximum width or height up to 7680 pixels, meeting the on-site configuration requirements of ultra-long or ultra-wide LED displays.
Cascading: Not only a single MCTRL4K is a powerful device, but one can connect up to 10 units to expand this processor's capabilities which will be essential to control large, complex and extensive LED display setups such as stadium panels and indoor/outdoor concerts displays.
Output
The MCTRL4K is the ideal solution for largescale LED displays that require outstanding clarity and continuous operation. Four 10G optical ports high-bandwidth data transmission and redundancy over long distances, all guaranteeing uninterrupted performance.
Additionally, Sixteen Neutrik (NE8FBH) Gigabit Ethernet ports (supporting redundancy) provide 8,800,000 pixels loading capacity for DP/HDMI input and 8,300,000 for DVI input ensuring clear, detailed, and continuous imagery.
Input
This NovaStar controller offers a comprehensive suite of input ports to handle diverse multimedia resources, making it a perfect choice for live events, and Enormous digital signage.
Both the DP 1.2 and HDMI 2.0 inputs offer stunning 4K resolution support and a maximum supported width or height of 7680 pixels for custom resolutions. (DP input with HDCP 1.3 and HDMI input with HDCP 1.4 and 2.2 compliance).
The MCTRL4K operates as two independent sending cards. Each of its two DVI-D inputs (DVI-D1 and DVI-D2) supports 3840x1080@60Hz resolution allowing for further multi-card mode configurations.
Multi-card mode, specifically designed for the dual DVI-D inputs, enables independent control and configuration of each output, making it ideal for complex, specialized multi-screen arrangements. Furthermore, the DVI inputs also support 3D output when used with the EMT200 3D emitter and 3D glasses. In this mode, DVI-D1 provides the left eye image, while DVI-D2 provides the right eye image, ensuring a synchronized 3D experience
Control
The NovaStar MCTRL4K simplifies control of complex LED displays. For connection to the control computer, it has both an Ethernet port and a USB IN port. Additionally, USB IN (Type-B) and USB OUT (Type-A) support device cascading up to 10 MCTRL4K units.
GENLOCK IN and LOOP ports help guaranteeing all the cascaded devices are precisely synchronized and ensure the external Genlock signal and the output signals of the cascaded MCTRL4K devices have the same refresh rates.
Software Configuration and Tools
NovaStar provides a complete suite of software tools for its controllers. NovaLCT handles advanced system configuration, screen setup, and calibration, while SmartLCT simplifies setup with a user-friendly interface, ideal for building-block screen configuration, offline/online design, seam brightness adjustment, and image rotation.
Ultra-High Resolution via NVIDIA Graphics Cards
The MCTRL4K offers customized resolutions settings with a maximum width or height of up to 7680 pixels when using DP or HDMI input sources. This feature is optimized for use with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970, GTX 1060, and GTX 750 Ti graphics cards, especially when the width or height of the output image exceeds 4092 pixels. It is perfect for high-end display scenarios such as gaming rooms, cinemas, and digital signage.
Operation
The MCTRL4K's FCC, CE, UL&CUL, EAC, CB, IC, KC, and RCM certifications ensure flawless continuous operation. Additionally, it performs perfectly in extreme ambient temperatures among -20°C and +60°C whenever powered via a 100-240VAC input voltage consuming maximum power of 30W.
Applications
The MCTRL4K is stable, reliable and powerful, dedicated to providing users with an ultimate visual experience. It can be mainly used in the rental and fixed installation applications, such as concerts, live events, security monitoring, National or international tournaments, various sports centers, and much more.
